Services — The starting point

The AI Readiness & Security Assessment

A structured, fixed-price review of whether AI can pay for itself in your business — and what has to be true about your infrastructure, identity, and data before it safely can. If the honest answer is “not yet,” the report says so, with the shortest path to ready.

Scope

What we review

Identity & access

SSO posture, MFA coverage, role structure — the foundation any AI deployment inherits, for better or worse.

Infrastructure & network

Where an assistant or agent would actually run, what it can reach, and what needs hardening first.

Security posture

Endpoint protection, patching discipline, backup verification — because an AI wired into a fragile environment multiplies fragility.

Data readiness

Where your operational knowledge lives, its quality and permissions, and what an AI could legitimately be allowed to see.

Workflow candidates

The specific processes where AI plausibly earns its keep — ranked by value, risk, and effort, not by hype.

Compliance considerations

Industry, insurance, and regulatory factors that shape what you can deploy and how it must be governed.

Deliverable

What you walk away with

A written report with a prioritized roadmap: quick wins, the recommended first build with budget ranges, the infrastructure fixes (if any) that must come first, and a plain-language build/no-build recommendation.

The report is yours regardless of whether you ever hire us again. Typical turnaround is two to three weeks from kickoff.

Investment: $4,500 flat fee for a standard single-site engagement, 2–3 weeks from kickoff. Complex or multi-site environments are scoped on a discovery call and typically run $6,500–$9,000, 3–4 weeks.
Who it’s for: owners and operations leaders of small and mid-market businesses who keep hearing they should “do something with AI” and want an engineering answer instead of a sales pitch.
FAQ

Common questions

What if we are not ready for AI?

Then the report says so — with the specific, sequenced fixes that would get you ready, most of which improve your security and operations whether or not you ever deploy AI.

Are we obligated to build with VTS afterward?

No. The report and roadmap are yours. Most clients do continue with us, but the assessment is priced and scoped to stand on its own.

How disruptive is it?

Minimally. Most of the review is read-only: configuration reviews, stakeholder interviews, and documentation analysis. Nothing is changed in your environment during an assessment.
